Overview:

For many years, climate action has focused on reducing emissions (mitigation). However, as organisations increasingly experience the effects of climate-induced flooding, heat stress, storm damage, supply chain disruption, and infrastructure impacts, adaptation and resilience is becoming an equally important part of the climate conversation.

Boards, senior executives and risk managers are recognising that climate-related risks have significant operational, financial and reputational implications. As a result, organisations need to understand their exposure to these risks and develop practical plans to build resilience for the years ahead.

This webinar will provide an introduction to climate risk assessment and climate adaptation planning.

We will cover:

Understanding climate risks and their potential impacts

How to undertake a climate risk assessment

Why climate adaptation matters and the business case for action

Developing a practical climate adaptation plan

Common challenges, lessons learned and emerging best practice

Speakers:

The webinar will be hosted by Karen Deignan of SustainabilityWorks and Dr Cera Slevin of Climate Matters who bring deep expertise and practical real world experience to this topic. They will be joined by guest speakers from Irish corporates who will share key insights from their own climate adaptation journeys.

Who should attend?

Sustainability professionals, risk and compliance teams, climate action leads, operational managers, asset and infrastructure managers, senior leaders and anyone responsible for organisational resilience and long-term planning.
