Bord Bia Global Sustainability Insights

Project Overview

Origin Green is Bord Bia’s pioneering food and drink sustainability programme. In 2021, SustainabilityWorks undertook research and stakeholder engagement to inform the future direction of the programme.

What we did

We did extensive desk research to understand the latest thinking on sustainable food systems. We then conducted in-depth materiality interviews with national and international food sustainability thought leaders, Origin Green member companies, and senior Bord Bia staff. We completed a materiality assessment to define the sustainability priorities for Ireland’s agri-food sector, now and in the future. Finally, we produced a detailed insights report to inform Bord Bia’s strategic thinking on the next phase of Origin Green.

Testimonial

The materiality assessment SustainabilityWorks completed was excellent and offered meaningful and original insights that positively contributed to the evolution of the Origin Green programme. We also found the leadership team in SW to be extremely professional, bringing a wealth of experience to the project. And on a personal note, they are a lovely team to work with.
